What do you recommend for cheap car insurance for a young driver?
I am 18 and passed my test 3 weeks ago today when i was 17! I have a Ford Fiesta 1.1 N reg! I have done my pass plus too! The best quote i have found is £967 and that is without telling them i have done my pass plus! It was also for third party fire and theft! Can someone recommend a cheap insurance company please! Many thanks
By the way that was with direct line!

Hastings Direct
Diamond
Tescos
im with Quinn, there are extremely cheap i pay £290 a year on a 2lt vectra, but then i am 21
Like you said make sure you go third party fire and theft, as paying the extra for fully comp is really not worth it on an older car

I passed my test a few weeks ago and bought a 1.6 peugeot 106 automatic, I got myself, as a new driver, and my boyfriend who is also a young driver with no pass plus or no claims bonus insured on my car for £550 which I think is great. The company is called Quinn direct. I also did it all online so there is no hassle at all x

You may as well go for fully comp telling them the car is worth £500. Take the BIGGEST excess you can get. It will only take you a couple of trouble free years to earn your own no claims bonus. Tell them about pass plus. Only go tpft if you HAVE to. Congratulations you have got 1 year on the road already, drive safe and in no time your insurance will go down.

tell them you have passed the plus exam, this should reduce your quotes, lower your anual milliage to 10,000 as this is about average, unfortunaty due to young drivers driving illegally insurance groups are using it as a excuse to hyke up the cost for young drivers. things to concider during getting a quote: where is car kept, type of security features, modifications to car stupid stuff but the more you tell a insurance group the higher the cost goes, also try offer about £250 excess in the event of a claim the higher you put the lower your premium, get free quotes on line this will save you cost of phone calls, type in car insurance into any search engine such as ask.co.uk or google.
