Furthermore, it’s not about less intrusivness. Do we have soldiers on the streets with weapons every day? Do the police randomly raid your home or anyone you know for no reason? Canada is doing better then the US because the Chretien/Martin administrations/Liberal Government that was in place from 93 to 2006. They didn’t stop so called “Free Trade” but because of them we aren’t facing the economic devastation of the US and that’s because they didn’t allow the type of insane financial risks that have crippled Wall Street. Luckily Bush-lite/Harper and the Conservatives don’t have enough power to trash the country as the Republicans/GOP did to the USA over the last 8 years

The Canadian economy as i understand is doing quite well compared to the rest of the industrialized nations through out this recession.
Conservatives have not been in power in Canada for the majority of the last 25 years as you speak i believe it has been the liberal government that has been in the majority for most of that duration.
And i believe the conservative stance in regards to small government is to be less intrusive in the common citizens life as possible.

I’m a liberal and partially agree with some of these statements, but one is no better than the other and until we put our partisan emptyheaded bullshit behind us, we’ll continue down this dead end path. No one here is blaming the real culprit for this mess..GENERAL MOTORS..that’s right..it’s GM that lost it’s edge since the late 90′s in terms of vision, build quality and lack of foresight..So there’s been a steady 30-45% annual shift of GM customers over to the more reliable and better selection of import vehicles..Thanks alot Rick Wagoner and company for fuckin GM up and causing the biggest loss of sales in GM history..Hope you enjoyed your fancy jet while it lasted.
